Summary:

The Ahoskie Waste Water Treatment Plant is well into construction. When operation begins in March of 2011 this project designed by The Wooten Company of Raleigh, NC will afford the Town of Ahoskie, NC the capacity to treat 1.2 million gallons per day. The plant will replace a lagoon spray field application that is now in use. The new project's treatment process consists of:

  • Twin aeration basins
  • Two 55' diameter clarifiers
  • A deep bed denitrification filter system
  • Ultra violet light disinfection
  • Digester
  • Various pump stations

In addition there is a pre-stressed concrete tank for the storage of 300,000 gallons of reclaimed water, a new administration building with a state of the art testing lab to maintain the highest standards in the discharge of the effluent thru a newly constructed 16" force main.

The completed project will consist of 6000 cubic yards of cast in place concrete, various sizes of underground piping, installation of three new 75 hp turbine pumps at the Town's existing pumping station, along with grading and landscaping.
