Beaufort County Hospital's 38,612 square foot renovation and expansion project will include a new surgical suite, visitors' lobby and support space.  When the project is complete in 2008, surgeons will have new, state of the art surgical facilities in which to work.  The surgical addition will enable physicians to perform a wide range of surgical procedures from minimally invasive techniques to complex operations.

In addition, the new lobby will include a gift shop, coffee shop, and a spacious seating area for visitors.  This renovation project will help Beaufort County Hospital better serve the needs of its' patients and visitors.

The new surgical suite will include:

• Five new operating rooms
• An 8-bay inpatient recovery area
• A 24-bay outpatient recovery area
• Surgical support areas
