T. A. Loving Employee a Hero.

Passenger Rescued in Wreck

Man Rescues Passenger From Submerged Car - Jeff McSwain had no idea Thursday he was about to be a hero. McSwain, an employee for T.A. Loving Company, was traveling on Highway 70 near Princeton when he witnessed Sabrina Parker get out of her car and run towards the Holts Pond Bridge . Parker had just witnessed a car plow off Highway 70, careen into the water, and overturn on its side. The driver was able to escape but a passenger was trapped inside. McSwain, a former firemen and Long Beach , NC police officer, jumped in and rescued the passenger from the murky waters. McSwain's co-worker, Dale Monroe, and Parker waited beside the water to help get the victim to safety. Both accident victims sustained only minor injuries. Had it not been for McSwain's heroic actions, one of the victims may not have lived. As a former firefighter, McSwain said he had pulled a victim from a house fire, but rescuing a victim trapped in a submerged car is a first for him. McSwain said he was headed back to a jobsite after picking up parts for a piece of equipment. He lost some of the parts when they fell out of his pocket after he dove into the water. His cell phone, clipped to his belt, was also damaged beyond repair. McSwain, a Seven Springs resident, dismissed the idea he was a hero.
