Morrisville High School

Client: Wake County Public School System
Architect: Evoke Studio
Completion Date: 2025
Delivery Method: Construction Manager at Risk

The Morrisville High School was initially designed as a middle/high school, but the project evolved midway into a dedicated high school/early college to better serve the educational needs of the community. In close partnership with the Design Team and Wake County Public School System, T. A. Loving seamlessly adapted the project scope to integrate a new High School program, implementing cost-saving measures and maintaining the original schedule for completion in Fall 2025. This transition not only accommodated a change in occupancy but also demonstrated our ability to adapt and navigate a rapidly changing environment.

Situated on a challenging 44-acre site that required major grading and earthwork complemented by five large cast-in-place retaining walls, the facility features a vertical commons that unites the overall building around a series of double-height connected spaces. Complete with various common spaces, technology and biotechnology labs, the “arms” of the building reach out into the landscape, connecting indoor and outdoor educational spaces that respond to the surrounding environment.
