J. Jerry Smith

Jerry started his career with T. A. Loving Company in September of 1967 as a rod man on a survey crew. He worked his way to superintendent and then project manager and became Utility Division Co-Manager in 1988. He is currently a Vice President and member of the Company's Board of Directors. Jerry's special expertise is in the area of pipe work and his responsibilities include bidding projects, purchasing and subcontracting. He is the 2012 Carolinas AGC Chair.

Ty is a Senior Vice President with the responsibilities of Division Manager for the Utility/Heavy Civil Division. Ty started with us in 1989 and has spent his entire professional career at T. A. Loving Company. Ty's special expertise is in the area of water and wastewater treatment plants.

Michael Richter

EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
Mike is a Senior Vice President with the responsibilities of Division Manager for the Building Division. Mike started with us in 1977, part time while in school, and has spent his entire professional career at T. A. Loving Company. His experience is quite diverse within the industry, but has extensive healthcare experience. He has been the lead on many of our healthcare projects having constructed over 1,000,000 square feet of healthcare facilities.

Mike directs the entire team in accomplishing goals by providing organization, communications, plan execution and leadership designed to further establish long-term relationships with owners and architects. Mike has enjoyed success at all levels of the construction industry. He adheres to core values of performance, accountability, integrity and client satisfaction. Through Mike’s experience and leadership, the owner is assured a satisfactory project.

Al joined T. A. Loving Company as CFO in March of 2001 after serving in a similar capacity for Franklin Baking Company of Goldsboro, NC and Carolina Turkeys of Mt. Olive, NC. Al is a CPA and holds Masters degrees in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, and City and Regional Planning.
